Some people feel that a pregnant man is an absolute abomination of life. Pregnancy has always been reserved by females, and to have a pregnant male seems almost ludicrous. 1. Reduction of stereotypes. It has long been held that because women are the ones who get pregnant, they are relegated to the house and should clean, cook, and complete other housewife duties while men are out at work. The pregnant man tears down these walls and helps to reduce other stereotypes that women are weaker because they can get pregnant, etc. The pregnant man is helping to bring equality between the genders.

2. Freedom from restriction and limitation. Some men, who may previously have wanted to be pregnant, couldn’t have accomplished this due to their physical incapability. Now, with the pregnant man, it has been proven that a man can be pregnant. This gives a glimmer of hope to those men out there who want to be the father of the child but have the child come out of his own body.

3. A stronger connection between man and child. Sometimes it is assumed that children are more likely to love their mother than their father because they shared such an intimate physical connection with her. Well, the pregnant man now allows men to have this same bond with the child that had previously only been a realization for women. Men can have the child and raise it, fostering a relationship with it based on the physical connection that has been shared between them.

Although the pregnant man can be looked at as a freak of nature, the positive consequences of this are astronomical.

That main discrepancy about this story is that Thomas Beatie was actually born a woman. At a young age she had her breasts removed and took male hormones for many years in order to change her appearance and outwardly change her sex from female to male. However the press have hyped up this story to make it appear that a Beatie was in fact the first ever man to give birth, when she is actually just a transgender female.

Another strange fact is that Beatie used a sperm donor to get pregnant. But this was not done the traditional way – by visiting a practice which inseminated him. Instead Beatie’s wife bought equipment from a veterinary clinic that is normally used to feed birds. She then inseminated Beatie herself (with no medical training) using this strange equipment that she described as a syringe without a needle.

It is easy to see why this bizarre story has made the headlines of some of the largest newspapers around. But on closer inspection one can see that just because Beatie has the outward appearance of a man, biologically ‘he is still a she’. Since then Beatie has given birth to a second child, a healthy baby girl.

Following Thomas Beatie, Scott Moore is making history as the second pregnant man. Scott is 30 year old transgender and grew up as a girl named Jessica. His parents helped him transition into manhood at an early age. Scott’s partner is named Thomas who is also transgender. The couple met at a local support group meeting and later married. They have both undergone surgery to change their gender and were able obtain a marriage license because Scott kept his female birth certificate.

The couple is expecting a baby boy within the next month. They have decided to name him Miles. Scott and Thomas currently have two children already, Gregg (12) and Logan (10) from a previous relationship. Scott was inseminated with a friend’s sperm and became pregnant in June of 2009. The couple is very excited that they are expecting and celebrated by going on a shopping excursion.

Scott first realized he wanted to be a man when he hit puberty at 11. His family would not accept this decision at first. By the time he reached the age of 16, they allowed him to begin taking male hormones and he underwent on surgery to have his chest removed. He has not yet been able to undergo gender reassignment surgery. Thomas grew up known as Laura and underwent full gender reassignment surgery last year.

The couple is making history as the second transgender family to give birth to a child and is paving the way for future transgendered couples to experience parenthood.

Should we be inspired by the man that claims he has had his own child with the help of doctors and specialized medical practices? Once this kind of reality was only seen in the science fiction movies such as when big Arnold Schwarzenegger was knocked up. However the truth itself may seem a bit cloudy when the facts are all brought to a head.

If it was me I would be confused as hell and would probably never tell anyone at school while I was growing up that I came out of a man rather than a woman. Thomas Beatie probably never thought of these facts before getting pregnant and having his/her daughter named Susan so what is he/she going to do to explain all of this when Susan grows up?

Being a media sensation all over the world this pregnant man who was once actually a woman should have thought about whether or not the child would be brought up in a world of ridicule and bullying. Perhaps the parents of Susan should think about home schooling or keeping their secret from her until she is old enough to understand what it all really means. The age of 75 pops into mind but even then there may still be some deep seeded resentment that the child will have for being made differently. Decisions are difficult to make and questions will be even more difficult to answer but one though was since Thomas Beatie has documented this event so far he/she should continue the media rollercoaster and take little Susan for the ride.

Men are now claiming equal right, the right to have babies’ and the right to give birth like a woman. There are a few different examples of pregnant man out there with some men trying new scientific methods of retaining a baby and some that cheat and were women but now they claim they are men. So is the pregnant man myth true or are these just stories to lure us into a deeper and stranger world of anything goes? His story has traveled all over the world however it is really up to the reader if they want to believe that this man is pregnant or is he still after all a he.

Giving birth to her second child now, Thomas Beatie has substituted his wife as the second mother who will take over the role of breast feeding the baby. The little girl was born on the 10th of July and is claimed as a natural child birth by the doctors that delivered the baby. So in this case both technically and medically speaking the male who was in fact at one stage a female and therefore still has the adequate anatomy to harbor child carriage and childbirth it is possible for a pregnant man to give birth to a child. It will be a while before the effect on the child both physically and mentally will be seen from having a male as a mother. Hormonal imbalance would not be far away which could lead to a number of side effects.
