The Science of Male Pregnancy

You might think that male pregnancy is something that belongs to science-fiction, but scientists are now making progress in this respective. In the near future, the pregnant man will be the one carrying the child. In the years since the first test tube baby was born in 1978, physicians and scientists from RYT Hospital have been working to develop a viable technique for the successful impregnation of male individuals. Male pregnancy is still in the experimental stage and will not be available to the public in the immediate future.

In vitro fertilisation techniques were used to induce an ectopic pregnancy by implanting an embryo and placenta into the abdominal cavity, just under the peritoneum. Lee Mingwei will be the first human male to ever birth a baby from his own body. He underwent several steps before being implanted the embryo. Oral doses of female hormones were administered to Lee Mingwei to make him receptive to the pregnancy. IVF techniques were used to induce an ectopic pregnancy by implanting an embryo and placenta into the abdominal cavity, just under or into the peritoneum. There is a severe risk of massive haemorrhage when the ectopic ruptures. This is also the most common cause of women dying in pregnancy.

Once implantation was complete, Mr. Lee stopped taking hormones, because the pregnancy itself, as expected, took over. The embryo secretes sufficient hormones to maintain its own growth and development. The duration of the pregnancy has been normal. Mr. Lee was kept under constant surveillance. The delivery will be made by means of Caesarean section to remove the baby and the placenta. Removal of the placenta is the real danger because it forms such intimate connections with the surrounding vessels that massive haemorrhage is likely. Implantation may have also involved other structures in the abdomen, including the bowel and it is possible that parts of other organs may need to be removed. The scientific community is very reluctant to this new discovery. Most of them are against, since they say that women are the only ones who can carry a pregnancy under normal conditions. Moreover, the concept of ectopic implantation and pregnant man, while theoretically plausible, has never been attempted and would be difficult to justify, even for women lacking a uterus, owing to the extreme health risks to both the parent and the child.

Changing The Laws – The Pregnant Man

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The concept of the pregnant man has been around in films and television productions before, but no one ever believed that it could be a representation of the truth. However, in the past few years, the issue of the pregnant man became more and more important and visible to all people. The two famous cases of the pregnant man, that of Thomas Beatie and that of Scott Moore, have shaken the world. While some communities managed to accept the idea and to include it into normal future practices, others more traditionalists have been simply devastated. The news about the apparition of the first pregnant man was bound to change the laws of normality in the world we live in. Even so, the fact should not be considered in a negative way, as the pregnant man is the start of a new evolution and of an even greater equality of chances. For the more traditional regions, who wish to stop the process and the stories about the pregnant man, this is something very difficult to understand.

Just as the apparition of the gay communities for men and women, the surface of the pregnant man issue affected the entire world. It is probably safe to say that the impact is somewhat similar and yet different in so many ways. The most important thing to keep in mind is that as everyone became accustomed to the gays, even if they liked it or not, they could very well accommodate to the new situation. The media outlets are still following the two men around to see what are the developments of their birthing. However, no new cases of the pregnant man have surfaced. Therefore, people are still waiting to see if other men will brave this process and decide to have a baby on their own or if the modern practice will disappear into oblivion. Until then, the concept of the pregnant man is still changing the way in which we see things today and the natural laws of the world in connection to the creation of a new family through the birth of a child.

By now, Thomas Beatie has become well known as the first pregnant man in the world. Although Thomas Beatie nowadays has three children, people are still shocked when reading his story. In 2008, famous television host Oprah Winfrey introduced Thomas as the first pregnant man to all the viewers of her famous show. And if one thing is certain is that everyone asked the question if men can really get pregnant. The anatomy of the male body makes natural pregnancy impossible. Still, some researchers have claimed that male pregnancy can be a possibility. And Thomas Beatie already has given birth to three children.

Well, although he is the first pregnant man to actually become a true celebrity, Thomas was not actually a man the moment when the gave birth. He was in fact born as a woman, starting a treatment to change his genre at the age of 20. He kept however his female sexual organs and this is actually the way he was able to give birth to a child. From this point of view, the whole issue is quite complex, as while some claim that pregnant man can give birth to healthy children, other actually say that it would be impossible. And when possible due to a complicated procedure, a pregnant man is at an increased risk of developing a series of complications during the pregnancy, as his body is not able to properly carry a baby.

Through genetic manipulation, pregnant man are able to carry and deliver a child, studies have shown. Still, the reality is that the only pregnant man known today is actually a person who was born as a woman. Another man announced a pregnancy in 2011, but the two cases are similar as both men were transsexuals. Despite the fact that men seem to have always been fascinated with the idea of pregnancy, none was able to conceive. Maybe with the developments in science and the medical world, pregnant man will be able to deliver safely in the following years. Anyway, until then, some specialists claim that 100 percent pregnancy is not possible for men.

The Pregnant Man – The Revolutionary Concept

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The pregnant man has been a more and more common issue in our modern society, as one of the most revolutionary concepts so far. The idea appeared in films and cartoons and then transferred into two real life situations, in the cases of Thomas Beatie and Scott Moore. Although there may be a lot of misconceptions about the pregnant man, this is definitely an element that will gain a lot of followers. We must take into account that our society has changed a lot in the past years. The man is not the only one who can work and make money, as well as the woman is not the only one who can take care of the household and cook. So why should it be different with pregnancies? In addition to the aspects mentioned, another important factor to take into account is the emergence of the same sex marriages. These couples should also be able to have children, if they want to. Thus, the pregnant man becomes a more and more logical concept. It is easy to understand why some men would want to become pregnant and have a child of their own now. However, for some people, it might be an idea that is not very easy to accept.

Although our society has greatly evolved, not all people have become accustomed with new practices. For them, the pregnant man might be a freak of nature and a person they could not accept among them. Keeping an open mind is very important nowadays, in regards of the pregnant man concept and many others. People should think about the fast pace of the world and that if they do not adjust, communicating with the younger generations will be a great problem. This is the case of the pregnant man as well. For example, you might find that your son will want to be the next pregnant man. Thus, you must adapt to this modern development and understand it. Men should be encouraged and supported by their families, as being a pregnant man is not an easy task to deal with.

Pregnan Man – Mission Impossible?

Remember that movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was pregnant and gave birth to a child? It might sound as a science-fiction scenario, but there are already two cases of pregnant man. The idea of getting a man pregnant seems out of this world. Still, there have already been two instances when two men carried a pregnancy. How is it possible? One explanation would be that the two men were actually born women. As a result, they already had ovaries and the other necessary organs needed to become a pregnant man. This would be an explanation as to how these two had become pregnant. Still, it is not the only mean by which a pregnant man can carry a child.

If the pregnant man is not a transgender, then one solution would be an ectopic implantation. It is known that biological human males do not have the anatomy needed for natural embryonic and fetal development. The theoretical issue of a future pregnant man undergoing an ectopic pregnancy has been addressed by experts in the area of fertility medicine. Although it has never been attempted, it would provide extreme health risks to the hypothetical pregnant man.

In theory, there would be some advantages to a pregnant man, such as: the reduction of stereotypes. It has been believed since the dawn of time that only the woman can carry a child and attend to the house chores, while the man goes to work and brings home the money. The pregnant man can bring equality between the genders. Another advantage would be the freedom from restriction and limitation. Due to physical incapabilities, the man can now benefit from hormonal treatment and end up with a baby. This would be a wonderful thing, especially in same-sex couples, where the partners wish to give birth to a child. Last but not least, a special connection would be established between the pregnant man and the child. Men could now experience the wonder of a human being developing in the womb.

Although most of the people might regard the pregnant man as an unnatural thing and a freak of nature, science will have evolved a lot in the following years as to give men the possibility to give birth to a healthy child.

What Is the First Pregnant Man Doing These Days

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Thomas Beatie was born in 1975, as Tracy Lagondino. This may sound confusing, but becoming a pregnant man is quite difficult without having female reproductive organs. It becomes obvious, thus, that the first pregnant man in the world was actually born a woman. Thomas Beatie underwent a gender reassignment in 2002, but he did not give up his female parts. While he may be considered a transsexual, Thomas Beatie was the world’s first pregnant man. Well, he said that he has always considered him a man, so after several years of testosterone shots, he decided that he wanted more.

He underwent a mastectomy in 2002, and became a real man. The only parts that he did not give up were the uterus and vagina, because he wanted to have kids. As his wife could not conceive, due to a hysterectomy, Thomas took matter into his hands and became a pregnant man. The whole world was shocked by the news as, let’s face it, we have only seen a pregnant man in movies. In 2007, the pregnant man gave birth to his first child, after an artificial insemination. The pregnant man became an instant celebrity, and he was invited to some of the most famous talk shows in the world. He did not stop here, though. The pregnant man now has three children with his wife, Susan. They are named Susan, Austin and Jensen, and they are three, two, and one year-old, respectively.

What is this pregnant man up to, these days, however? Well, Thomas stated that he could not have been happier. He is lucky to have such an amazing family, and even though some people look at him like a crazy pregnant man, he is very thankful for everything that he has got. Recently, Thomas and his family moved to Arizona. The only thing that concerns the pregnant man is the money issue, so he is struggling to get a job and forget about the financial problems, once and for all. He recently lost a contract for Dancing with the Stars, but he was not discouraged. On the contrary, the pregnant man is looking forward to see what does the future hold. However, he has decided that 3 children are enough, so he is considering a hysterectomy.

Thomas Beatie, the first pregnant man, always wanted to be a man and when he had the chance to start the treatment to change that aspect, he just took that opportunity. How Can a Man Get Pregnant?

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The idea of a man getting pregnant seems impossible. However, as the world witnessed, not only did one man recently get pregnant, but so did another one. To the astonishment of countless people, both of these men successfully gave birth to a baby. So, how in the world is this possible? In both of these cases, this event was made possible by the fact that both of these men were born as women. As a result, they already had ovaries and the other necessary reproductive organs to become pregnant. While this is how both of these men were able to become pregnant, it’s not the only way that a man could carry a child.

Although it has never been attempted, specialists believe that it could be possible to impregnate a normal man through the use of an ectopic implant. This would require several steps. First, the implant would need to be made in a man’s stomach. Next, an attachment would need to be made between one of the man’s organs and the placenta. Finally, when the baby reached its full development, doctors would have to operate and perform a C-section to get the baby out of the man’s stomach.

While this form of male pregnancy is believed to be possible, not only are there ethical reasons that it has never been done, but there are also serious health risks that would have to be addressed. Because a man’s body isn’t designed to carry a baby, it is quite likely that this type of pregnancy would be fatal to a man attempting to carry a baby.

Second Pregnant Man

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The world sat up and took notice when Thomas Beatie, a female to male transsexual who had kept his female reproductive organs gave birth to a healthy baby girl in June of 2008. Beatie and his wife, Nancy, had wanted children, but Nancy had undergone a hysterectomy and couldn’t get pregnant.

Now it’s time to take note of the world’s second pregnant man, Scott Moore, who gave birth to a son, Miles, on March 9, 2010. Scott and his husband, Thomas Moore, were both born female, but have both undergone sex reassignment surgery and identify as a gay male couple.

The men were already raising two boys from a previous relationship Thomas had had with a woman, but it was important to them to bring their own child into the family. Like Thomas Beatie, Scott had kept his female reproductive organs, so he was biologically capable of pregnancy. A friend donated the sperm used for the conception.

Scott and Thomas acknowledge that their family is a nontraditional one, but they describe themselves as “blissfully happy.” Asked if they were afraid their baby would grow up to be the victim of bullies for having two fathers and for being born to a man, Thomas acknowledged that it could happen, but was confident that it is a problem they can overcome. One of his other sons, Logan, was bullied, he stated, but learned to turn the tables on people who made fun of him.

The London Daily News broke Scott’s story in January 2009.
